Various mandaps were also built during the Chola dynasty. However, during the 14th century, a Muslim ruler Malik Kafur looted the temple and destroyed various parts of the temple also. Because of this, unfortunately, a massive loss happened to the temple. After that, when the Vijayanagar Empire came to rule, they built the temple on a huge level.

The temple has two Temple tanks also. The temple tanks are Chandra Pushkarini and Surya Pushkarini. Good water capacity has been provided for each tank at that time. Along with that, all the water is collected in those two tanks only.
