Chikmagalur travel experience shared by one of our customer.
We start our trip early in the morning and slowly make our way through the beautiful landscapes of Chikmagalur that turn green. The anticipation grew as we approached our resort, which was carefully chosen for my holiday bliss for the perfect blend of luxury and nature this resort was nestled in sprawling coffee plantations, providing a peaceful respite from city life in the turmoil and commotion of the 19th century.
After a warm welcome and early check in, we were eager to explore the coffee plantations surrounding the resort. Our knowledgeable and coffee-loving guide gave us an informative tour. We learned about the intricate process of coffee farming, from planting to harvest, and were able to sample freshly ground coffee. The experience was educational and refreshing, setting a soothing tone for the rest of our trip.
The second day was spent exploring Mullayanagiri, the highest peak in Karnataka. The walk up the winding roads gave us a beautiful view of the Western Ghats, as we climbed up the air was cool and the views were breathtaking It was a triumphant moment to reach the top, the little temple at the top added a spiritual element to a unique experience. We spent some time soaking in the scenery, taking pictures, and just enjoying the peacefulness.
Our next destination was Baba Budangiri famous for its scenic beauty and historical significance. The sanctuary here, revered by both Hindus and Muslims, stands as a testament to the region’s cultural harmony. Nearby, the Ruby Base Waterfall was breathtaking with cascades cascading down a rocky cliff face. The mist of the falls provided a refreshing coolness and we spent our time here relaxing and taking in the natural beauty.
On the third day we reach the Hebbe falls. The journey was a pleasant one, filled with winding roads and lush vegetation. It was amazing to see the Hebbe River, an ancient stream that flows over a cliff into a tranquil lake. We couldn’t resist getting in the cool water, which was a welcome break from the summer heat.
In the afternoon we visited Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. The ecosystem of the sanctuary made for a fascinating safari. Seeing elephants, rhinos and a variety of birds in their natural habitat was the highlight of our trip. Our guide’s extensive knowledge of wildlife and conservation efforts added depth to our experience, and he appreciated the importance of sanctuaries in nature conservation.
Our last day was spent exploring the historic towns of Belur and Halebidu, famous for their Hoysala architecture. The temples here amazed us with their intricate sculptures and intricate stonework. Each design told stories of Indian mythology and history, and the insight of our guide brought these stories to life. We were mesmerized by the art and craft on display, and spent hours admiring the sights.
The temples of Belur and Halebidu are not mere architectural marvels. They are a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka. When we walk through these historic sites we feel a deep connection to the past and have a deep appreciation for the artists who created these works of art.
Culinary experiences were a highlight throughout our stay. My holiday gladly ensured that we tasted the best of local food, from traditional South Indian breakfasts to sumptuous dinners with local specialties including dosas and idlis. Every meal was a culinary delight, and the hospitality at our resorts and local restaurants made us feel right at home.
As our trip came to a close, we couldn’t stop thinking about the amazing experiences we had. The breathtaking scenery, rich history and vibrant culture had given us a getaway we wanted. My holidays happily and seamlessly blended adventure, relaxation and cultural exploration.
