The Hanuman Temple in Shirdi, which is also called the Maruti Mandir, is a very important religious place for Lord Hanuman. This temple is very important to the religion and is close to Dwarkamai and Chavadi. Devotees come to pay their respects and ask for benefits, enjoying the peaceful and holy atmosphere. It is one of the top places to visit in Shirdi Darshan tour.

The Powerful Connection between Sai Baba and Lord Hanuman

Devotees dedicated the temple to Lord Hanuman, a deeply devoted follower of Lord Rama. Right next to each other are two Hanuman idols in this temple. In one spot, there are weights and bars. It is well known that Lord Hanuman is the god who helps fighters.

People say that during the procession, Sai Baba stops at the temple of Lord Hanuman, waves his hands strangely, and stands still for a minute or two. Even at important times, devotees take Sai Baba's palki and stop it at the Maruti Mandir for the worship of both Sai Baba and Lord Hanuman.

There is a Peepal and Nectar tree in front of the temple. Someone named Murthikar Bajre Rao Dalve from Bombay also constructed a Shivling and built a Nandi near this place. Even during that event, devotees take out Sai Baba's palki and stop it at Maruti Mandir to praise both Sai Baba and Lord Hanuman.

Baba and Hanuman Temple

Sadhus used to live in Maruti Mandir. One of them was the hermit Devidas, who Baba would sometimes visit when he was first in Shirdi. Baba's followers were unfortunate that he wasn't with them when he went to Rahata with the fakir Javhar Ali in the early 1890s.

They finally got Javhar Ali to let Baba go back to Shirdi after about eight weeks, but he insisted on coming with them. A few days after that, Javhar Ali and Devidas fought in this temple. The fakir was severely beaten and had to leave the area. After that, Baba stayed in Shirdi with his followers until the end of his life.

The Best Time to Visit for a Divine Darshan

The winter months, from October to March, are probably the best times to visit this Hanuman Temple in Shirdi because the weather during this period tends to be quite pleasant. Visiting during Hanuman Jayanti or other important religious holidays will be more meaningful. Shirdi tour packages offer the travel convenience. Early morning and late night are peaceful hours for the devotees.
