The Sowmiya Narayana Perumal Temple is a very beautiful in Tamil Nadu. The temple has very beautiful Dravidian-style architecture. Also, the temple is considered one of the 108 Divya Desams. 

When you enter the temple, you will find a five-tiered Divya Desam. There is a huge gopuram also. The gopuram has beautiful carvings. Also, inside the temple, you will find very beautiful vimana and halls. There is a temple tank also inside the temple.
 
Different types of festivals are also celebrated in the Sowmiya Narayana Perumal Temple. Some of the most famous festivals celebrated here are- Navrathri, Ekadashi, Vaikuntha, and many more. Along with this, when you go to the temple, you will see that on a daily basis, 6 pooja rituals are performed.

It is believed that the temple was constructed 1000 years ago. Chola rulers led to the establishment of the temple. However, after the Chola dynasty, different rulers ruled the place. In the temple, you will find a reclining deity of Lord Thirukkoshtiyur Sri Arulmigu Sowmiya Narayana. Along with this, there is a shrine for the goddess Sowmiya Nachiyar. Goddess is in the form of goddess Lakshmi only.
