Kanakai Waterfalls

Kanakai Waterfalls on Kadem River, Adilabad District, Telangana, are very beautiful and commanding an excellent place for hiking. The Kanakai waterfall, also known as the Kanakadurga waterfall, lies close to the village of Girnur in the Bazarhatnoor Mandal. Near the stream, there is also a temple to Kanaka Durga. When holidays happen, many religious people from nearby towns come to the temple.

Other waterfalls

At Kanakai, there are three falls. One is a small waterfall with rocky formations about 10 feet high on average. The other is the central falls, also called Bandrev waterfall, which is about 1 km from the small waterfall and has water falling from about 30 feet high into a big pool about 100 feet wide.

This is where a stream meets the Kadem River. The third one is a few hundred meters away and is called Cheekati Gundam. It resembles the first one, with a thick forest and dark settings. Everything in the area is dense with plants and has sharp rocks.
