The Amaravati Museum is an archaeological museum in Amaravati, which is also the official capital of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is one of the most famous museums in Andhra and one of the best places to see in Amaravati Tour Packages. It is right next to the Amaravati Stupa.

What exhibits are featured at the Amaravati Museum?

In the first gallery, visitors can admire old, intricate art created by artists of that era. The Purnakumbha and Lotus forms showcase the complicated art of the time. The museum’s most valuable exhibits include two slab drums depicting Stupas, the Swastika mark on the throne’s padded seat beneath the Bodhi tree, the Agni Skanda (Flame pillar), the dome, and the 8th-century standing Buddha.

A tall and beautiful bronze statue of Lord Buddha is located in the second hall. It is the most important piece in the Amaravati Museum. Experts discovered this beautiful Buddha figure in the southeast of the Deccan. They believe it dates back to the 8th century AD.

The statue is a great example of how skilled the sculptor was. There are also some pillars with writing on them and a stone wheel from Lingaraj Palli in this gallery. There are also many pictures and paintings of Buddha that will help you understand his life. The third gallery shows the power and strength of the Satavahana time. It has sculptures from 100 BC, including Yakshi, Dharma Chakra, and Bodhisattvas.

What is the history behind the Museum?

The Amaravati Museum, run by ASI, is a great place to see artefacts found in the ruins of this 2,000-year-old Buddhist village. It also displays items from other nearby locations. These artefacts can be seen in three different halls from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD. The Amaravati Museum is one of the best places to visit in Amaravati.

The museum also has walls that show off a model of a stupa that is part of a rebuilt railing. These panels show Buddha's life from when he left his kingdom to many other events during his lifetime. There are also more exciting works of art, such as a figure of Nandishwara. This figure resembles the god Ganesh and the goddess Lakshmi.
