What is the history of Hastagiri Jain Tirth?

The Jain Tirth is in honour of Bhagwan Rishabhdev and Shri Adishwar Bhagwan. The Hill is also famous as a Hastisengiri. According to the temple's history, the place has been sacred since the time of Bhagwan Adishwar. Bharat Chakravartin, the eldest son of Bhagwan Adishwar, was the one who found the sacred place. 

According to the people, even today, people can see the food images of Bhagwan in a small temple on a very old Hill. It is a belief that Bharat Chakravartin got his salvation here. He was in the food fasting until death came and got Moksha here. The elephant of the King also followed him till death, and it is the reason this place is called Shri Hastagiri Teerth.

On the Hill, there is a large Temple that was built in 1979. The temple is 9 acres in area. The Hastagiri Jain Tirth is an octagon. 

The main part of the temple has four idols of Rishabh Dev facing in different directions. The Doom, near the very private place, has carvings similar to those of the temples of Mount Abu.
