Mullakkal Rajarajeshwari Temple, being among the oldest ancient temples of the state is this magnificent temple which forbids men from wearing any cloth on the upper part of the body dates back to over five hundred years. The sacred Goddess Annapurneshwari, later re-instated as Rajarajeshwari is believed to be miraculous by devotees coming here from all over the nation to pay their respects. The lush Banyan tree huge in its size is another highlight of the sacred site which is accompanied by an ancient Shiva Lingam as well. 

The Festivals

The renowned annual festival of MullakkalChirappu is an eleven-day long affair held here in November full of devotion, celebration and belief. Thaipooyakavadi is another wonderful festival celebrated here apart from the devotional nine auspicious days of Navratri both celebrated between September and December every year. People from all across the globe visit the ancient site to enjoy the traditional festival celebration.
