History of ISKCON Pondicherry
ISKCON goes back to the roots of Vedic or Hinduism culture. The philosophy, beliefs, principles, and teachings have been derived from the ‘Bhagavat Purana’ and ‘Bhagavat Gita’. These Sanskrit text books comes from the period of Gaudiya-Vaishnava Sampradaya, which then the sole motto was monotheistic religion. Therefore we can conclude that the base of ISKCON is build upon spreading the strength of one GOD to everyone.
In day to day life, we’ve come across many names of GOD like Jesus, Shiv Ji, Allah, etc. Their ultimate milestone is to induce love for their GOD through chanting prayer in the form of greater deligence. It’ll be a privilege to meditate in of these temples in Pondicherry tourism.
The idea was brought into light by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. The first ever temple was build in the New York City in 1966, since then it has expanded to 400 temples. The community has more than 100 vegetarian restaurants and 40 rural shelters.
