The Perumal temple is a very famous Hindu temple in the town of Thalamalai, Tamil Nadu. Various people are coming from all over the world to seek blessings from Lord Vishnu in this Temple. Not only this, but this temple is considered as one of the 108 Divya Desams.
 
The annual festival of the Perumal temple happens very grandly, and you should go to the festival if you are traveling around April to May. The festival happens for a total of 10 days. Different beautiful festivals are celebrated along with the annual festival like- Janmashtami, Ekadashi, Brahmotsavam, and a lot more. History of the Perumal Temple

The Perumal temple was constructed during the 7th century AD when the Pallavas dynasty was ruling the place. It is believed that during the Pallavas dynasty's rule, this temple was a very important place for Vaishnavism.
 
However, during the 10th century, when the Cholas dynasty came into rule, they also helped expand the temple. After the Cholas, various other dynasties also came to rule the place. All of the rulers contributed to the development and reconstruction of the temple.
 
The architecture of the temple

In the whole Perumal Temple, you can find very beautiful carvings and sculptures adorning the temple's wall. Along with this, a very beautiful Dravidian style is followed here. The complex of the temple is really large, and at the entrance only, you can see a high-raised Gopuram.

The Gopuram of the temple has nine tires. Various mandapams are also present inside the temple that are used for different religious activities. Kalyana Mandapam is a very famous mandapams where marriages are performed.

With the famous shrine of Lord Vishnu, you can see the shrines of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Hanuman, and many more.
