In the Tamil Nadu district of Theni, the Highwavys Mountain, people call the Meghamalai. It comprises rolling hills with peaks in the Varusanadu Range of the Western Ghats. Meghamalai is 1,500 meters above sea level and covered in the characteristic green of the Sahyadri range. This is how it got its name, "Pacha Kumachi'' in Tamil, which means "Green Peaks."

In 1978 CE, the Highwavys Dam came into existence. It has a capacity of 2.4 million m3 of water. Some of the best places in Meghamalai to spend time alone with your loved ones are the peaceful lake and the beckoning mountain ranges.
