Athirappilly Waterfalls is sometimes referred to as the "Niagara of India" and is unquestionably Kerala's greatest pride. It is the tallest and widest waterfall in Kerala, rising 1,000 feet above sea level to a height of 25 meters (82 ft) with four drops.

It is a popular tourist destination of the Athirappilly Waterfalls tour package that draws a variety of visitors during each season. Athirappilly Waterfalls is located on the boundary of the districts of Thrissur and Ernakulam. Through a number of streams, the waterfall descends to a level of 80 feet.

It originates in the high parts of the Western Ghats, close to the entry to the Sholayar area. The Athirappilly waterfalls provide a breathtaking scene of shimmering water, emerald forests, and azure sky as they flow through the lush vegetation of the Vazhachal forest towards the Arabian Sea. The majestic waterfalls are worth the trip.

Daily forest safaris are organized between Chalakudy and Malakkapara by the district's Tourism Promotion Council in collaboration with Athirappilly. 

It is a 90-kilometer journey through Kerala's rain forests across the stunning Sholayar mountain. It includes places to visit, including the Athirappilly Falls, Thumboormuzhy Dam, Kauthuka Park, Butterfly Garden, and Vazhachal Falls.

Trekking 
The journey to the Athirappilly Waterfalls is available. The entire well-maintained road allows you to enjoy the breathtaking views. You'll have company from birds and monkeys. Additionally, you might see Samba deer if you're lucky. You will be in awe of the scene when you get to the falls' base.

The Athirappilly Waterfalls are accessible throughout the year and never dry down. Although the waterfall is at its most beautiful during the monsoons, heavy rains are inconvenient. Therefore, September through January is the ideal period to travel.
