Idamalayar Dam View Point is a picturesque place and one of Kerala's main reservoirs, situated close to Vadattupara at a distance of 78 km from Kochi and 87 km from Athirappilly Waterfalls. The Dam prevents access to the Idamalayar River, which joins the Periyar River. A wide diversity of creatures can find shelter in the trees near the reservoir. In Ennakal, close to Athirappilly, there is a multi-purpose concrete dam called the Idamalayar Dam that was constructed in 1985.
