Pulicat Lake & Sanctuary is a large lagoon with shallow, salty water on the coast of the Bay of Bengal. It has so many streams running into it. It measures approximately 70 kilometers long and between 1 and 20 kilometers wide. There are 16 towns on islands in the lake and 30 villages right next to the lake.
