History of Thiruvanaikoil temple
This temple was traced back to the 17th century CE during the rule of the Pallavas dynasty in Trichy. However, after the rule of the Pallavas dynasty, the Cholas took control of the place.
Chola’s contributed a lot toward the development of the temple. It is believed that King Kocengannan was a very famous king of the Cholas dynasty. He worshiped Lord Shiva in this temple, and he got cured of all his illnesses. After that time, he gave the order for the construction of the temple.
