Many people visit and honour the Shirdi Sai Baba temple in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Sai Baba of Shirdi, the temple's resident god, was a respected saint from the 18th century. However, Sai Baba later became the heart of a cult called All India Sai Samaj. The temple is in the community's main office. Narasimha Swamiji started the Samaj in the 1940s. History of the temple

Narasimha Swami, a lawyer and spiritual follower of Shirdi Sai Baba, built the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Mylapore. Despite being relocated to Nanjunda Rao Colony, the temple's original location remains.

Narasimha Swami, a prominent All-India Sai Samaj figure, propagated Sai Baba's teachings and life through his magazine Sai Sudha. In 1952, he made a temple that became this community's headquarters. Later, he also got a considerable following. 

In 1987, Sri Muthu Venkatraman installed a beautiful white marble statue in the temple for the Sai Community.

What is the Speciality of Shirdi Sai Baba Temple?

The temple follows all the religious beliefs of Sai Baba. It also organises all religious activities. On Thursday, the temple welcomes a Muslim saint to read the Quran. They also read Hindu bhajans and Kirtans and feed 1000 people. On Sunday, they read the bible and do Agni puja for the eternal flame of Shirdi.

The best time to visit 

People can go to Sai Baba temple in Chennai at any time of the year. However, they mostly visit from November to February when it's not so hot that they can escape the heat. The temple is worth visiting during the Chennai tour package.
