The historical site of Alampur is in the Mahbubnagar district of Telangana. The Jogulamba Temple (a Shakti Peetha), the Navabrahma shrines, and the 7th-century Sangameswara Temple are some of the most well-known places in Alampur. Alampur is one of the best places to visit near Mantralayam.

People think of Alampur as the western entrance to Srisailam, a famous tourist town. Several inscriptions from the 7th century to the 16th century are in the building. Some well-known places to visit near Hyderabad are in Alampur.

Alampur is on the banks of the River Tungabhadra, close to where the powerful rivers Krishna and Tungabhadra meet. It is an important place to visit during the Mantralayam tour package for pilgrims and people interested in history.

This area was under the rule of many different groups, such as the Satavahanas, the Chalukyas, the Kakatiyas, the Bahamani sultans, the Vijayanagara kings, and finally the Hyderabadiyas. One must-see place in Hyderabad that you should include in your tour packages is Alampur.

History

The story of this place says that after a monk cursed Lord Brahma and took away his powers, he did penance for Lord Shiva. People think that Lord Shiva came in nine different forms, which is why there are nine temples to honor each form. In the main building of the Bala Brahma building, the Shiva linga looks like a bull's footprint.

Jogulamba Temple is one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas of Goddess Shakti and is very old. This is the fifth Shakti Peetha, which stands for the upper teeth part of Goddess Shakti. The first temple of Jogulamba was destroyed in 2005, and a new one was built in its place. Goddess statues were in the Bala Brahmeswara temple for 600 years.

What is Alampur famous for?

People think of Alampur as the western entrance to Srisailam. The temple has a Badami Chalukyan design in this beautiful temple and the remains of an older temple. A lot of South Indian families ruled over the area.

The temple took too much space by the Jogulamba and Bala Brahma temples, making it hard to protect the city's shrines. They were also being used for religious ceremonies.

What is the real name of Alampur?

Alampur earlier was famous as Halampuram, Amalapuram, and Alampuram. In an inscription from 1101 CE, during the rule of Western Chalukya king Vikramaditya VI, it was popular as Hatampura.
