This temple is on the northwest corner of the far right side of the Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple Building. The main goddess is a form of Goddess Parvathi, and this temple is the second most important in Mantralayam. People usually pray to Manchalamma before entering the Raghavendra Swamy Temple.

A Hall and a Sanctum can be found in the Manchalamma Temple. The main deity is a 3-foot idol that stands on a raised stage. The Vimanam contains many beautiful pictures of Goddess Parvathi. The town of Mantralayam appears to be safe because of Manchalamma's divine powers.

In the past, Manthralayam was called Manchali, which is a name for the goddess Manchalamma. One thing that makes them different is that they let the devotees do the Aarthi.  Manchalamma Temple is one of the best places to visit in Mantralayam.

Manchalamma Temple History

It used to be called Manchali, after the goddess Manchalamma, who was worshiped here, before it was called Mantralayam. According to a story, Raghavendra Swamy asked Manchalamma for the land he needed for the Brundavan Temple in Mantralaya. This is why followers should first go to the Manchalamma temple before going to the Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple.

Ma Manchalamma has been watching over Mantralaya since ancient times. It is a very holy place. This sacred place is essential to the religion of Bhakta because it is where the great Bhakta Prahalada did Yagna. He really did become the great Bhakta Prahalada in his first form, as the Urchava Idol in the Mantralayam Raghavendra Mutt is Prahalada.

Visiting the Temple

The temple is open all day, and there are aartis (prayer practices) at certain times. Manchalamma's main hero is a pretty statue about three feet tall. People who worship the goddess often give her robes and coconuts as gifts to ask for her blessings on their health and well-being.

Even though it's not very big, this temple is an integral part of life in Mantralayam. It reminds visitors of the area's beliefs and customs, which makes the place even more spiritual. The Manchalamma Temple is worth visiting during the Mantralayam tour package.
