Sri Ksheera Rama Temple History
The Shiva Linga is quite big and has a unique milky white colour. Upamanyu, the son of the sage Kaushik, is said to have asked Lord Shiva to give him enough milk to perform the practices in the temple. He filled the Ksheera Pushkarini Tank with the mythical blue ocean, famous as Ksheera Sagaram. This place has many names because of this, such as Ksheerarama, Palakollu, and Dugdhapovanam.
The windows on all four sides of the garage let you see the Shiva Lingam inside. Some people think that Lord Vishnu put the Shiva lingam there. Others believe that Lord Sri Rama did the first pooja here. This temple has Sri Chakram, which was put there by Sri Adi Sankaracharya.
Architecture
The temple's main hall has 72 black stone pillars. Outside the temple, you can also see the Gokarneshwara and Ganapati shrines. The three are arranged from right to left, with Nandi in the middle. The Gosthani River runs through the town of Palakollu and meets the Godavari River at Narsapur. This temple celebrates Mahashivaratri, a significant holiday.
