Rajahmundry is the largest city in the East and West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. Located on the River Godavari's banks, people know it as Rajamahendravaram. The Chalukya King, Raja Raja Narendra, built Rajahmundry in the 1800s. Many consider it one of the oldest towns in India. Most people know Rajahmundry as a place where Hindus go on pilgrimages. It has many places of worship, but the Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Temple is the most famous.

Dowleswaram Barrage Rajahmundry

The Dowleswaram Barrage, on the river Godavari, is a famous British building in Andhra Pradesh. Sir Arthur Cotton built it, and he changed the whole scenery of the area. Because the Godavari flowed so quickly, the land wasn't healthy, and there were regular floods. The construction of the Dowleswaram dam has, hence, increased the fertility of this region and improved the overall economic condition of the state. This is not only an excellent architecture but also the views of the river from here make it a splendid tourist spot. This barrage is, in fact, one of the must-see places among various tourist places in Rajahmundry.

Godavari Bridge Rajahmundry

The Kovvur-Rajahmundry Bridge, also known as the Godavari Bridge, is a truss bridge that spans the Godavari River in Rajahmundry. The South-Central Railway section of Indian Railways took over it. In 1974, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, the President of India at the time, opened it. It is Asia's second-longest road-rail bridge that goes over a body of water. Rajahmundry tour packages often highlight this iconic structure, offering breathtaking views of the bridge and the Godavari River.

Sri Ksheera Rama Temple

Among the Pancharama temples is Sri Ksheera Rama Temple. It is in the West Godavari area of Andhra Pradesh. It is in Amaravathi, Draksharama Temple is in Draksharamam, Kumararama Temple is in Samalkoti, and Somarama Temple is in Bhimavaram. An architect named Sri Velupathi made the Prakara in the 10th century. In the 14th century, Sri Alladu Reddy built the Gopuram. The Archaeological Department has put this old building on its list of protected monuments. This temple is a significant inclusion in the places to visit in Rajahmundry.

Sri Someswara Swamy Temple

There are many places where Lord Shiva is worshiped, and the Sri Someswara Temple, also called Somaramam, is one of them. It is located in the Andhra Pradesh town of Bhimavaram, which is part of the West Godavari District. It is in Amaravathi, Draksharama Temple is in Draksharamam, Kumararama Temple is in Samalkoti, and Ksheera Rama Temple is in Palakollu. The other four are in different places. The temple is inside a walled enclosure and looks east. The building is built on two levels. It takes 5 feet to reach the Shiva Lingam in Grabhagriha. This temple is a significant spiritual destination included in Rajahmundry tour packages.

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple

It is in Dwaraka Tirumala, which is in the West Godavari state of Andhra Pradesh. At the summit of Seshachala Hill stands the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple. Some people believe that this temple is just as holy as the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala. Lord Vishnu, also known as Sri Venkateswara Swamy, is the main god here. The Mylavaram Zamindars constructed it in the nineteenth century. A saint named Dwaraka found Sri Venkateswara Swamy in the form of himself. That's why the temple is called Dwaraka Tirumala. You may also hear this place called Chinna Tirupati. It is frequently mentioned among the places to visit in Rajahmundry for its spiritual significance.
