Modhera Sun Temple is an old Hindu temple in Modhera village near Patan, Gujarat. It is on the banks of the River Pushpavati. It is one of India's most prominent heritage sites and a must-see in Patan tour packages.

In 1026 AD, the Sun Temple was constructed by King Bhimdev I of the Solanki dynasty in honor of the Sun God. It is a well-known heritage site near Ahmedabad. This Temple exhibits the Solanki monarchs' ability to construct and exemplifies the ruling dynasty's commitment at the time.

As with the Sun Temple at Konark, this Temple was build so that the first rays of the Sun fell on Lord Surya's image. Mahmud Ghazni plundered the shrine, although its architectural splendor remains intact. Currently, no worship happens here, and the Temple is under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India. It came into the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014.

The ancient philosophy of natural elements shows the primary power and energy of the life cycle. A trip to the calm temple complex makes you aware of the positively powerful aura of energy the area emits. It pulls you closer to the surroundings.
