Kere Basadi being situated 72 kilometres from Mangalore, Kere Basadi is a beautiful Jain temple located in the centre of a lake. The location of this place is in Varanga. And it considered as a pilgrim centres for the Jains. The village of Varanga has found 26 Kilometres from Karkala in Udupi district. It is one of the holiest places to visit in Mangalore.

There are many Mangalore tour packages that includes this place of Mangalore and they almost cover all the parts of the city including this one also. Depending on the duration the price will vary. The most comfortable duration will be 3 days and 2 nights.

Varanga Jain Temple, Karkala

The three Basadis are the three beautiful Jain temples located here.

Kere Basadi: It is located in the middle of the lake and is beautiful this temple’s age is 850 years. The lake housing of kere basadi which is touching Nemitha basadi is full of aquatic life indeed. Also most interesting fact is this temple follows the footmarks of Lord Parshwanatha.

Neminatha Basadi: Besides that, there are two beautiful elephants at the entrance of this temple. A deity is carved on the top.

Chandranath Basadi: it is over 1000 years old and is also famous as Mathada Basadi.
