The Hedvi Ganesh Temple and Beach are in the village of Hedvi in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district and they are among the peaceful places to visit in Ganpatipule.

One of the most well-known temples in the Konkan area is the Lakshmi Ganesh Temple at Hedvi. People also call it the Dasabhuj Ganesh Temple, and many consider it a popular spiritual destination. The name Sri Dasabhuj Ganesha comes from the picture of Lord Ganesha, which shows Dasha Bhuja, which means 'ten hands'.

Hedvi Ganesh Temple and Beach Mythological Connection

Local stories say that the idol was built during the Peshwa dynasty out of white marble that was brought from Kashmir. The birth of Lord Ganesha is celebrated with a grand parade from Shukla Chaturthi to Shashthi in the month of Magh, as per the Hindu calendar.

Rock Formations and beaches

Hedvi Beach has black sand and is between Guhagar Beach and Ganpatipule Beach, which both have white sand. The beach lies approximately 3 kilometres from the Dasabhuj Ganesh temple. A short stretch of beach called Hisdvi is famous for a group of rocks that are on the soft shore. Hedvi Beach is not a safe place to swim, so you should probably stay away from it.

It also has the Uma Maheshwari temple and the natural gorge called Brahman Ghal. Its 35 feet long, 20 feet wide, and 20 feet deep. Behind the Uma Maheshwari temple, this spot is about 3 km from the Dasabhuj Ganesh Temple.

At high tide, waves surge into the gorge, crashing against the rocks. A 15–20-metre-high water column rises from the valley. Many Ganpatipule tour packages include this spot for the thrilling experience of hearing the thunderous sound of waves hitting rocks. Visitors also enjoy the sprinkle shower that rises from the 15–20-metre-high water column during high tide.

Spiritual Ambience

Attracting both pilgrims and visitors, the Hedvi Ganesh Temple presents a holy and serene environment. Nestled amid verdant surroundings and coastal appeal, the temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and renowned for its spiritual power. The serene surroundings of the Hedvi Ganesh Temple make it the ideal stop for those seeking peace and dedication while travelling along the Konkan coast.
