Dhanaulti is a small town near Mussoorie, in the beautiful Himalayan Mountains. While Dhanaulti can be a destination on its own, most people use it as a peaceful rest stop. It’s often a stopover on their way to longer trips or vacations in Uttarakhand. So, Dhanaulti does not have any big draws. Instead, it has small, beautiful spots close to nature and offers peace. At an elevation of 2286 m and away from the noise and chaos of the city, Dhanaulti has many peaceful spots for sightseeing and complete rest.

Camp Kanatal

One of the best places to camp in the area is Kanatal Adventure Camp. The camp has many things to do, including Burma Bridge, Valley Crossing, Paint Ball, Jet Skiing, and more. It also has bonfires, buffet meals, washrooms connected to tents, indoor-outdoor games, barbecue nights, and more. Dhanaulti tour packages often include this camp as a highlight for adventure enthusiasts.

Dhanaulti Adventure Park

The Apple Orchard Road is home to the Dhanaulti Adventure Park, a great place to escape the busy city life. This adventure park is one of the best places to visit in Dhanaulti. It has tall trees, lush green fields, and stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. You can hike to Top Niba and Surkhanda Devi from here, mountain bike, climb, horseback ride, and camp.

Eco Park – Dhanaulti

One of the best places to visit in Dhanaulti is Eco Park. It spreads over 13 hectares and is extensively covered with deodar and oak trees. This place has pleasant weather throughout the year due to its 7800 m elevation above sea level. The playground in the park makes it a wonderful place for children to spend their free time, and it is always well maintained. People can plant a sapling in the park as part of a custom called "memory sapling plantation" to honor a loved one in their life.

Surkhanda Devi Temple

The Surkhanda Temple is a 2-kilometer hike from the town of Kaddu Khal. It is a hiker's dream. It's hard to climb, but the view and peace are worth it. This temple is one of the most well-known "Shaktipeeth" in India. It is based on the story of Sati jumping into the fire of sacrifice to punish her father, Daksha, for not inviting Lord Shiva to a ceremony. A Shaktipeeth, in its literal sense, is a holy place where the female goddess lives for her followers. Dhanaulti tour packages often feature this temple for spiritual and scenic experiences.

Tehri Dam
