History 

Visakhapatnam is often just called "Vizag." Its name comes from the Hindu god of bravery, Visakha. The city looks out over the Bay of Bengal and is set in a beautiful valley in the Eastern Ghats. Based on archaeological evidence, Visakhapatnam was built by the Kulothunga Chola between the years 11th and 12th AD.

Which time is best for a Vizag trip?

The months of October through March are ideal for a visit to Visakhapatnam. The weather is nice and lovely at this time. From October to December, the city celebrates many festivals and is worth visiting at this time. The most famous festival is Visakha Utsav. 

During the summer, the weather is very hot. It is challenging to go and visit places. The place also has humidity and heat waves, making it difficult to explore the city.

During the monsoon season, from July to September, the place experiences rainfall. Again, it takes work to travel and visit places during monsoon season.
