Appikonda Beach

Appikonda Beach is a little far from the city. It is a beautiful beach and offers lovely views. It also has cashew and casuarina trees. The place is good to spend time here. Appikonda is one of the best places to visit in Vizag.

Appikonda History 

Appikonda is also famous as Kapilakonda. It is a small village near Vizag on the Bay of Bengal coast. It is famous for its Shiva temple, featuring a life-size black stone bull sculpture—inscriptions from the 12th century AD mention that a Cholas commander-in-chief for worship granted the village. The temple complex houses four shrines and a bull sculpture.

The best time to visit Appikonda

March is the beginning of summer, and May marks its end. If you want to avoid the extreme heat, you can go during this time.
During winter, the beach is more beautiful. From October to March, the temperature is around 18 to 30 degrees. 

The city gets a lot of rain during the rainy season, from June to September. The rain makes it difficult to visit around the city. However, Appikonda is a must-visit during the Vizag tour packages.
