History of Pattadakal

The temples in Pattadakal are examples of the Chalukyan architecture style. Ten important temples have different architectures, making it a timeless beauty. It also has the location of the royal coronation and memorial rites. It is one of the best temples in India. The temple complex shows features of Aryan and Dravidian, a mixture of two architectural styles. The Archaeological Survey of India maintains the sculpture gallery of the Pattadakal temple.

Architecture

Built between the sixth and ninth centuries are the Pattadakal monuments. Compared to the early-stage temples of Aihole, the temples in Pattadakal are larger, more magnificent, and have significant artwork. The experiments the Chalukyas carried out at Aihole appear to have improved their ability to build temples. Later, they constructed grander temples in the city.

The Dravidian, Nagara, Phamsana, and Gaja Prishtha architectural models are all represented in the temples' various architectural designs. A secure complex with a sizable compound and an open area is near to Pattadakal hamlet, and it contains the largest buildings.

Pattadakal is a very popular historical destination for tourists across the globe. Mostly, the visitors are archaeologists, historians, and people interested in history and temples. The Pattadakal tour package is perfect for exploring with family and friends. The best time to visit the place is from October to March. You can also visit the town during monsoon from July to September during amazing weather.
