The first temple you come across in the compound is Kadasiddeshwar Temple. It is a tiny Nagara-style building from the eighth century. It is one of the must-see places to visit in Pattadakal.

The Hindu temple, Jambulinga Temple, belongs to Lord Shiva. It is close to Pattadakal in the Bagalkot District in Karnataka. This temple is a part of the Pattadakal collection of buildings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Overview of Kadasiddeshwar Temple

This modest temple demonstrates an experimental stage in the evolution of temple design, particularly in the axial expansion of the plan and superstructure. This east-facing temple has a square sanctum (garbhagriha) with a linga on the Pitha. It also has an astylar, rectangular mandapa, and likely a mukha-mandapa, as indicated by the plinth. It holds brackets above the Dwarapalakas, flanking the mandapa doorway. They are now worn out and decorated with five bands (sakha).

The temple has the customary five moldings, and the construction is on a raised platform. The wall surfaces are simple except for a frieze of ganas carrying garlands at the top. The superstructure is curved and has a simple Sukanasa projection to the east. It is of the rekha-Nagar (northern) type. In a little trefoil chaitya-arch, Siva and Parvathi are shown dancing in the Sukanasa.

The niches on the outer walls of the sanctuary (garbhagriha) are home to the statues of Ardhanariswara, Harihara, and Siva. Siva and Parvathi are in the middle of the lintel. On the pilasters, Brahma and Vishnu stand either side of them. It supports the sanctum's doorway's adorned bands (Sakhas). Below the bars are carvings of two river goddesses and their attendants.

The Hucchimalli Gudi shrine in Aihole and the temple are extremely similar. Its floor plan and building period are comparable to those of the Jambu Lingeshwara temple. During your Pattadakal tour package, the Kadasiddeshwar is a must-visit temple.
