Kashi Vishwanath Temple is located next to Mallikarjuna Temple inside the temple complex. It is a stunning Nagara-style temple from the 8th century that lies 400 meters from Pattadakal Bus Stand. Pattadakal is a region recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site for its historic collection of structures. Every visitor to Pattadakal must include it in their Pattadakal tour package. Architecture of Kashi Vishwanath Temple
The construction of the latest Hindu temple in the Pattadakal ruins is of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Aside from the sanctum and antarala, the temple's remaining structures have crumbled. Two pillars support the shrine, which includes a Shivalinga carved out of black stone. The sanctum's doorway has carvings of Garuda holding snakes. There are lovely statues of female figures in various poses at the bottom of the entrance.
The intricately crafted carvings on the temple's pillars are stunning. There are exquisite engravings on two posts presenting the Siva-Parvathi wedding and the Krishna Leela from the Bhagavatam. Other representations on the pillars include Lord Shiva pursuing the demon Tripurasura and Ravana hoisting Kailasa.
The king of the Rashtrakuta dynasty constructed the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Nagara-style architecture between the seventh and eighth centuries. This temple is said to be the final one to be made at Pattadakal. It is built in the same general Chalukya style as the others. The square garbha griha, or sanctum, where the Shiva linga is, is located in the Kashi Vishwanatha temple. The Nandi-mandapa, which depicts a seated Nandi, is situated east of the garbha griha.
A small number of pillar reliefs feature men riding fantastical creatures. A sizable statue of Shiva and Parvathi holding a young Skanda is on the ceiling. The enormous animal sculptures support the ceiling relief. The Sikhara's dome is missing.
