Overview of Amrit Udyan

These Mughal Gardens in Delhi are located within the Rashtrapati Bhawan Complex. They are referred to as the "soul" of the Presidential Palace. As among the top places to visit in Delhi, the Gardens were designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1917 for Lady Harding. They are 13 acres in area, with a great blending of Mughal and British styles within the building, blending historical elegance with serene beauty.

Their beauty in Jammu and Kashmir inspired the Mughal Gardens in Delhi. They capture this charm well and create a perfect picture of the plants. The area is filled with several flowers that bloom at different times of the year and make for a beautiful landscape, happy and all.

During the Udyanotsav event in February and March, this beautiful example of nature's majesty is open to the public for a set amount of time.

Architectural Beauty and Design

Within the Delhi premises, the Mughal Garden is part of Rashtrapati Bhavan. It is the epitome of building construction, as it sets examples by merging Mughal building styles with British standards. Entailing intricate planning, Sir Edwin Lutyens incorporates waterways and steps, imitating Mughal gardens found in Kashmir.

DELHI TOUR PACKAGES mark this garden, divided into several sections by the organisers. The division was done in a rectangular garden, a long garden, and a circular garden. Each symmetrical section in the design is filled with lush greenery. Red sandstone, marble, and ponds add to the beauty and create a serene environment in the area, showing the grandeur of Mughal architecture.

Key Attractions in the Mughal Garden

Everything seems interesting to be viewed in the Mughal Garden. A Rose Garden is one of the best things present in the garden because it contains hundreds of bright-coloured roses. A Musical Garden is the most unique place to visit in this garden because its ponds move due to the music.

It houses the Spiritual Garden, home to herbs and plants described by old books that immediately create a sense of serenity. Another place of interest is the Bonsai Garden. Miniature trees growing herein have aged above 80 years. The lawns within the yard are well-kept. The yard also has flowerbeds with alluring scents and various ornamental plants. This makes it a must-visit spot in Delhi for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

What is the best time to visit the Mughal Garden?

Between February and March, during the Udyanotsav holiday, the garden is only open for a short time. Organisers change the dates and times every year and release them only briefly before the visits start. Look for the same thing online before you come.
