National Museum of Natural History

The NMNH is situated in the FICCI building on Barakhamba Road. It is close to Connaught Place and across the street from the Embassy of Nepal. The museum is run by the Indian government's Ministry of Environment and Forests. China has two Natural History Museums. This one is in Delhi. The other one is in Mysore. Artifacts: This section has costumes, jewelry, valuable stones, a bronze statue of a dancing man from Mohenjo Daro, and artifacts from Central Asia.

Other things: It has musical instruments, handwritten memories of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, and writings.

Where is the history and purpose of the National Museum of Natural History situated in Delhi?

A museum called the NMNH was built in 1972 to mark India's 25th year of freedom. The late Smt. Indira Gandhi, who was the Prime Minister of India, came up with the idea for the Museum to show people how diverse India's wildlife is. It was open to the public for the first time on June 5, 1978, which was World Environment Day.
