Ekta Cruise Service offers a ferry ride along the scenic Narmada River in Kevadia. It is one of the must-do activities in Kevadiya.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Ekta Cruise Service on October 30, 2020. The aim is to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Sri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary. The ferry departs from Shrestha Bharat Bhavan, behind Ramada Encore, and heads to the Statue of Unity. The river's 6 km-long navigation channel is specifically for tourists visiting the Statue of Unity with a one-of-a-kind experience.
The Ekta Cruise
The distance between Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan and the Statue is roughly 6 kilometres. It will be accomplished in 40 minutes by UNITY 1 and 25 minutes by UNITY 2. UNITY 1, a catamaran-type vessel with two decks, is 26 metres long and 9 metres wide. It currently transports 200 passengers on the lower deck in fixed seats.
UNITY 2 is a monohull boat that can go at great speeds. The boat can hold up to 25 passengers. The upper deck provides more space for passengers to enjoy captivating views of the monument as well as the most hypnotic surroundings along the Narmada River. The ship makes a 15-20-minute stop at the Statue of Unity.
Guests onboard can enjoy the breathtaking view of the world's tallest statue while cruising along with some relaxing background music and cultural events. This cruise also includes an exciting 'On Board dinner' while cruising through Kevadia.
It offers the woodland darkness, and stunning illumination captures the hearts of hundreds of tourists. On the lower deck, travellers can shop for souvenirs and eat at a food stall.
The best time to visit
The Ekta Cruise takes a predetermined course around the river, allowing passengers to enjoy uninterrupted views of the statue and the surrounding natural landscape. Sunset is one of the greatest moments to experience the cruise. The Ekta cruise is a must-see journey during your Kevadia tour package.
