The Panchmuli Lake in Kevadiya is beautiful. A Statue of Unity plan will take you to one of the best places to visit in Kevadia.
The Sardar Sarovar Dam has a tunnel that flows out from the middle of three lakes on the left side of the dam. One of them is Panchmuli Lake. It was built for people who came to see the Statue of Unity. It is also famous as "Dyke-3" of the Sardar Sarovar Dam. The Panchmuli Lake has calm waters and has the rough Vindhya Mountains around it. The lake is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit.
Crocodiles at the lake
The animals that were saved from the lake were also taken to rescue centers in Godhra (in the Panchmahal district) and Gandhinaga.
But the lake is home to many crocodiles, which makes it dangerous for people to visit. The government moved 194 crocodiles between 2019 and 2021. There are still a lot of snakes in the lake, so be careful if you go there. However, it is one of the must visit places during the Kevadia tour package.
Boating at the Panchmuli Lake
As an ecotourism activity, the Gujarat State Forest Development Corporation Ltd. (GSFDC) has started a boat ride in Panchmuli Lake. The boat rides last 45 minutes each, and eight rides happen every day. You can get to the water of Dyke-4 on this ride.
The whole body of water has lush green woods around it. The area is full of native plants and animals, and it's a rare chance to see so many species in their natural environment. You might see the seaplane arrive and take off sometimes.
The best time to visit
The best time to visit Panchmuli Lake in Kevadia, Gujarat, is from October to February. There are lush green woods all around the lake, and animals live there. Planes might even stop and take off from there.
