About Iruppu falls or Irupu falls or Irpu falls

The sacred Lakshmana river eventually confluences with the holy Kaveri. Legend
The legends believe that the pious stream of LakshmanaTirtha originated by the Hindu Lord Lakshmana's arrow aimed at the scenic lush Brahmagiri hills. It is also said that the water was called upon the land to quench the thirst of the Hindu Lord Rama on their way to finding the Hindu Goddess and his beloved wife SitaMata. Hence, the fall is named after Lord Lakshmana.
The Shiva-lingam constructed within the sacred temple of Rameshwara is considered to be placed by the Hindu Lord Rama himself which make it one among the most popular temples of the country and the waterfall among the best places to visit in Coorg.
