A major event that attracts tourists from across borders is the most celebrated 15-day event of 'Losar' (the local name of the new year) which falls between February and March. History
The spectacular Namdroling Monastery was constructed in 1963 in Bylakuppe. Bylakuppe was first constructed in the year 1961 by the eminent Lugsum Samdupling in. It was later worked upon in 1969 by DickyiLarsoe. The Monastery came into being because of Drubwang P.N. Rinpoche. With over five thousand nuns and monks who are currently a part here, the renowned Tibetan Golden temple is surprisingly the biggest tutor of the ancient Buddhist lineage of the art of Nyingmapa.
