About Bannerghatta National Park

The dense Anekal Range of deciduous forests of Karnataka is home to this popular national park. When it comes to the lovers of a visiting Bangalore, this extremely rich Wildlife park just cannot be missed. Spread around in a huge area of over twenty-five thousand acres of land, the park site which was nationalized in 1974 is one among the major spots to visit in Bangalore today.

The National Park

In the year 2002, the Park was announced as a Biological/ Zoological Reserve under the same name. The national park enjoys a high popularity across the country for qualities more than one. The zoological site boasts of being the first nationalized park in the nation which has an entire fenced and highly protected sanctuary for several elephants species. The enclosed area is covered mostly in deciduous vegetation and has a very high appeal among tourists of all ages and nationalities. The highly protected and organized area of the butterfly park developed in a huge land of about seven acres housing over twenty delicate forms of butterflies is a key attraction of the park.

The vast fish aquarium with a range of fish species, the rich park full of various kinds of snakes, the space housing several dangerous crocodile variety, the Zoo and special Safari make the park one among the topmost places found in any special package curated under Bangalore tourism. Safari

Indeed a heaven for wildlife photographers with the famous Grand Safari doing rounds. One can easily spot chivalrous tigers, bears, majestic lions, prancing deers and even beautiful leopards. Some of the majestic variety of the rare national Tigers include the Bengal tigers and the spotless White tigers. As per the ticket margin, the general Safari of lions, bears and tigers can be enjoyed on the general buses which can be completed normally within 50 minutes. The Giant Safari on the other hand has options of luxurious jeeps and the distinct cages which take you across the insides of the jungle which may take up to two exciting hours.

Located at a high altitude of over fifteen-hundred metres, one of the most attractive spots within the park area is the clear Swarnamukhi stream. An ancient Vishnu temple named after Swamy Champaka Dhama built here is another prominent site which every tourist positively visits for the sacred darshan of the deity.
