About Nehru planetarium

One among the most popular places in Bangalore especially among children across the country is the renowned planetarium named after the former Prime Minister of the nation, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. It was established by the City Corporation of Bengaluru. Constructed in the year 1989, the planetarium has been extremely popular among science enthusiasts and school children. Being an interesting and highly informative place to visit, the planetarium is one among the most ideal locations of Bangalore and an interactive center of fun learning to take your kids to. This involves an impressive display and acts as a central feature in your Bangalore Tour Packages.

Attractions

The secrets of the mysterious outer space are something that attracts people to the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium. With the capacity of over 220 people to be seated within, one of the prime highlights of the site includes its famous Sky Theatre. It is interesting to note that the planetarium dome within the theatre goes up to a size of fifteen meters in its diameter. Astronomy has been one among the most growing subjects of interest within Indian school going students.

Major things which attract children are experiments as interesting as Rocket launches, special refractor 6-inch telescope and its usage during special educational programs. BASE Camp, Know-Your-Stars and Tiny Tots are some among the various programs held exclusively during holidays along with the Sunday special short-term activities organized on weekends especially for young science prodigies.

The means of education is made enjoyable by the various projections of galaxies, constellations, closer look at the various planets across the universe and the Solar System shown inside the Planetarium. The new wave of digital forms, clippings and highly defined special effects have genuinely enhanced the ultimate experience by multiple folds which obviously lead to the increase in the Planetarium's popularity by such a wide margin.

The children visiting the place are highly attracted to the famous Science Theme Park constructed around the location. The planetarium hosts one-hour long shows twice each day which is a highly informative attraction for the kids coming over. Some among the most fascinating display science models are the Giant yet beautiful Kaleidoscope, Whispering Dishes, Resonant Swings, Sun Dial and the framework of a Polar (P) Satellite (S) Launching (L) Vehicle (V).
