Parunthampara

1. Makarajyothi Celebrations

The Makara Jyothi is a divine light which can be seen every January from the Parunthampara coming from the sacred site of the temple of Sabarimala. The clear sight of the light is what makes the site popular. Looking at the sacred beam of lights is considered to be something worth celebrating and cherishing for the rest of your life.

2. The Tagore Belief

The 'Eagle rock' as people call it by the virtue of its translation in the English language from the Malayalam name is renowned across the globe because of the Tagore belief. It is said that the rock is formed in a way that it resembles the face of the Bengali bard, the evergreen poet R.N Tagore. Tagore lovers from across borders visit the site to witness it for themselves.
