What is surprising about this fact is that normally the species of this tree start bearing fruits from July to September. Devotees find it really appealing and the tree becomes quite sacred because of this fantastical attribute.

Another tale that has been doing rounds across Tamilnadu is that Avvaiyar, the renowned Tamil poetess once she tested her right at this sacred hill was given a divine vision. The dense hilltop has become a sacred site with various stories associated with it.

Azhagar temple is right near the temple premises which makes it convenient to visit both the sacred sites together. It is even believed that the gorgeous Murugan idol was initially placed there before being placed in Pazhamudir Solai under the Nayak ruler Thirumalai.
