Jageshwar is at an elevation of 1,870 meters above sea level. Jageshwar Dham is one of Kumaon's most popular tourist destinations, drawing thousands of tourists annually. A thick Deodar forest surrounds it, and a brook runs through its backyard.

Jageshwar is a perfect holiday place to discover during the ALMORA TOUR PACKAGE because of its mystical and serene atmosphere. In the past, pilgrims would stop in Jageshwar on their way to the well-known Kailash-Mansarovar pilgrimage. The travel makes this well-liked off-the-beaten-path destination with the picturesque villages of Kumaoni and the Deodar forests.

The Jata Ganga flows through the temple, and the surrounding deodar trees add to the area's attractiveness. Tourists can also find a meditation center here because of the temple's serene, verdant, and lovely surroundings.

Is Jageshwar Dham a Jyotirlinga?

One of the Jyotirlingas (Asthma Jyotirlingas - Nagesham Darukavane) is Jageshwar Dham. Many ancient texts regard it as one of the twelve original Jyotirlingas. Also referred to as the Valley of Gods, its several reconstructions span the 7th through the 14th century.

How many Shivlingas are there in Jageshwar Dham?

There are twelve Lord Shiva Jyotirlingas in India, including Nagesh Daruka Bane. They are also known by the four names Jageshwar, Yageshwar, Hatkeshwar, and Nageshwar—considered eighth among them. There are 125 small and large temples at Jageshwar Dham, with 108 Shiva Linga temples and 17 temples dedicated to other deities.
