Jagat Mandir is a spiritual place in the Rama Krishna Ashram in Rajkot, Gujarat. The place is a must visit during the Rajkot tour package. The place is really good for people who like meditation and believe in spirituality.

Apart from the temple, the Ramakrishna ashram temple also has a library. It also has an Ayurveda centre, exhibition, bookstore and a guest house as well.

Ramakrishna also takes part in helping the rehabilitation, education and cultural work. The place also organises tournaments every year to encourage students. The Jagat Mandir is one of the best places to visit in Rajkot.

History of Jagat Mandir

The Jagat Mandir is also famous as a Universal temple. The beautiful temple has been in existence since 1934. The temple has carvings of red stone. It is dedicated to Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa. The structure of the temple is modern. It is a good example of showing all the different religions like Hindi, Islam, Buddhism and Christianity. The design of the temple is by Shri Madhukar Thakor. The original temple got its design from Swami Vivekananda.

Architecture

The height of the temple is 168 feet high. It also has an auditorium under Natmandir. The temple also has a Bhoga room in the Garbha Mandir. The Garbha mandir has a statue of Bhagwan Sri Ramakrishna sitting on white marble made of marble. The statute is very similar to the one at Belur Math. The temple has a statue of Lord Hanuman on the left. The other statue is of Lord Ganesha on the right side of the temple.

There is also a beautiful railing around the temple similar to the one at Sanchi stupa. It also has a balcony along with a Nahbat Khana. It is a traditional place where the people play Shenani during the festival days. The interiors and the exteriors of the temple are very beautiful. It has windows, domes and parapets. Another beautiful part of the temple is the 60 pillars made of white marble.
