About Chunchi falls

Named after a legendary couple of a local tribe, the majestic Chunchifalls drops in several smaller sections from as high as fifty feet. The great waterfall is formed on the wild waters of the renowned Arkavathi river of Karnataka is among the most popular places in Karnataka and a must inclusion in both Mysuru tour packages and Bangalore tour packages.

Best time to explore?

The time of stepping into winters right after Monsoons is the best period to enjoy a walk or a family picnic around the gushing waters making it quite a popular and scenic spot for family picnics and nature walks.

Major Attractions of Chunchi falls

One may spend a lazy weekend by the falls and the lush green surroundings with the family with the sparkling water view. Two of the key attractions on the way to the majestic falls are the Sangam (the renowned confluence of three local streams) and the equally popular Mekedatu Falls nearby. Both of these might take two more hours on a whole. Usually covered together with the Chunchi, the entire trip becomes a peaceful stay by nature which is absolutely delightful with the cold breeze coming from cold waters of the grand fall.
The high Chunchi tower a little before the falls is known for its great bird's eye view of the entire location which is a prime highlight here.
The nearby popular sites include the renowned and distinct fishing camp named Galibore which is quite a distinct experience for you and your kids and even Bheemeshwari which fall closer to Mysuru and overall become a completely entertaining Mysuru package for your family vacation.
If you are a trek-lover who has experienced the rough terrain, you can always enjoy a careful trek down the waters after prior permissions but solely at your own risk.

Always Remember

  • One must be acutely careful while stepping into waters because of its deep undercurrents and a high rate of spotting Crocodiles.
  • Visitors often spot scary crocs which makes the water acutely dangerous for a swim or even walks around by kids alone and unguarded.
  • Avoid stepping very deep into the rocks as they are quite slippery and risky.
  • Avoid staying by falls late at night as it is unsafe.
  • Prefer your own cars due to the limited availability of public transport nearby.

All the spectacular highlights of the magnificent waterfall make it a prime part of the list of best places to visit in Mysuru and even Karnataka Tourism.
