Lakshman temple is the oldest temple in rishikesh. The temple is quite famous because of its connection to Lord Ram's brother, Lakshman. It also has a magnificent interior, sculptures, and carvings. Legend has it that Lakshman meditated at the Lakshman temple to become enlightened.

Many people even think Lord Rama built the jute bridge, today famous as Lakshman Jhula. The temple is easily accessible from the Rishikesh bus terminal by auto rickshaw, as it is close to Lakshman Jhula. The Temple is a beautiful stop, so the RISHIKESH TOUR PACKAGE must include a visit there.

Significance of the temple

The Temple in Rishikesh is significant because of its renown for its antique murals and sculptures. It could be close to the religious center Tapovan. This is the region where the well-known Lakshman Jhula is located, on the banks of the Ganga River. The Temple in Rishikesh is not far from the Trayambakeshwar Temple.

Here, people celebrate Diwali and Dussehra with considerable enthusiasm. Diwali rituals typically involve worshiping the gods and lighting earthen lamps. The temple is decorated with lights during the festival season.

History of the Lakshman Temple

A stunning sculpture of a chariot that can be seen while crossing the Lakshman Jhula is close to the Lakshman Temple. The temple's history tells us that Lord Rama made the bridge. Also, it was made near the Laksham temple in the shape of a jute bridge. Initially, it was able to survive for some time. Later, after so many adjustments, it is now available for use.

The temple includes beautiful interiors. You can also see the Ganga River and the beautiful rishikesh from the temple. The temple also has figures crafted beautifully in the form of paintings. The illustrations and portraits are worth watching. The pictures will take you back to the previous era. The temple's beautiful architecture is the primary reason to visit this temple among the PLACES TO VISIT IN RISHIKESH
