It is the perfect setting for religious yoga and meditation. The Ashram is lovely and serene, close to the Ganges, India's sacred river, and Ganga Vatika.
The Ashram takes care of the meals, yoga sessions, and satsangs, all carefully set up. When you are on the RISHIKESH TOUR PACKAGE, don't forget to see the Parmarth Niketan.
These days, Sivananda Ashram provides yoga and meditation programs on all days except Sundays. In addition, worldwide publication of books, pamphlets, and periodicals is done to compete with the scientific facets of yoga and Vedanta. It also has a universal religion, philosophy, and traditional medicine. Periodically, there are also a variety of cultural and spiritual conferences, talks, and training sessions.
History of Sivananda Ashram
Sivananda Ashram, founded in 1936 by Swami Sivananda, introduced the scientific aspect of traditional Indian yoga to the Western world. The Ashram emphasized the three underlying principles of Yamas - Integrity, non-violence, and purity - which contribute to mastery of breath, body, and mind.
Ownership came to Swami Chidananda following the demise of Sivananda. He spread the message of Yoga and Vedanta worldwide, making Sivananda Ashram a prominent spiritual center.
What is the dress code for Ashram?
