Kharsali is a small village in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district. Kharsali is located at an elevation of 2675 meters above sea level. It is famous as the residence of Goddess Yamuna during the winter months when the Yamunotri Shrine is inaccessible due to excessive snowfall.

Visiting Kharsali is now easier than ever because the government has chosen to keep the Char Dham Yatra open during the winter, allowing devotees to worship Goddess Yamuna at Kharsali during the winter. It is one of the most attractive places to visit in Yamunotri
