Kharsali is a small village in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district. Kharsali is located at an elevation of 2675 meters above sea level. It is famous as the residence of Goddess Yamuna during the winter months when the Yamunotri Shrine is inaccessible due to excessive snowfall.
