Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, is located in the western Garhwal Himalayas at an elevation of around 3,291 metres. Yamunotri is the source of India's second most sacred river, the Yamuna. As a result, the Yamunotri Temple is one of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage locations.

History of the temple
In 1839, the King of Tehri, Naresh Sudarshan Shah, built the Yamunotri Temple. After an earthquake devastated a large chunk of the temple, Maharani of Jaipur Gularia Devi rebuilt it in the 19th century AD. Granite stones were used to construct the Yamunotri Temple. A yellow conical-shaped tower with lovely red borders stands above the temple. In the front, there is a little patio that connects to the main door.
