McLeod Ganj is named after a Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, Sir Donald Friell McLeod and Ganj comes from a Persian word which means ¨neighbourhood¨. It is a famous but small village in the district of Kangra of Himachal Pradesh.
It is situated at a height of 2082 meters in the Dhauladhar Range, near upper Dharamshala. McLeod Ganj is a very famous hill station and trekkers love this destination for trekking.
