Bhagsunag Temple is one of the ancient temples in the scenic town of Dharamshala. The temple is located in the Bhagsu village. There is a belief about this place. That Lord Shiva had Prevailed himself, hence it very much respected and visited by Hindus.

History of Bhagsunag Temple
According to the people, around 5000 years ago, the snake god, Nag Devta used to steal water from the Nag Dal Lake. The water from this lake had believed to be sacred. Nag Devta and the local King Bhagsu were drawn into a battle indeed.
The King was vanquished by the Nag Devta and Nag Devta forgave him. Thus this site was later very popular as in name of “Bhagsunag”. For the Gorkhali Community, this temple holds a special significance. There everybody said that the temple built by the king himself.
