This Shri Guna Devi Temple is a small Hindu temple which is named after the place where it is situated i.e. Guna. The proper location is actually 8 Km away from the place of McLeod Ganj. It is one of the religious and most holy places to visit in McLeod Ganj.
The temple is situated in the laps of Kangra Valley at an altitude of 2310 meters. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, one of the Hindu goddess.
Also, Guna Devi Temple is a holy and one of the significant pilgrimage platforms for only “Gaddi Shepherds”. The surrounding of the temple is beautiful and green with the tall oak and deodar trees. There is a small lake which is named as Laka lake. The temple has a place for visitors who want to stay overnight. One can get the blankets and another needful from the shops beside the temple.
Shri Guna Devi Temple Trek
The trek to Shri Guna Devi Temple is an easy trek. It is best for the beginners and also for the people who don’t know their stamina and want to test themselves as trekkers. So, this trek is basically for all but senior citizens, and children should avoid it. The temple is located at a height of 2310 meters. The place is very scenic and absolutely beautiful. The view of Dhauladhar ranges is awe-inspiring from this location.
In the trek route, there is steam called Bhated Nullah. It flows towards the village Balh. This stream is there on the route to make climbing and trekking more adventurous and enjoyable to the trekkers.
The trek takes about 8 hours to complete which takes 7 hours to complete. There are lots of places on the route where trekkers can click amazing pictures and create a lifelong experience.
