Dudhsagar waterfalls

Dudhsagar Falls is one of the best tourist attractions among the places to visit in Goa. Forming a part of Bhagwan Mahavir Sanctuary, this milky waterfall is nestled majestically in Sanguem taluk in Goa. Its blanketed beautifully by the Western Ghats. Both Goa and Karnataka share this waterfall together. Falling 1017 feet below, it is regarded as one of the highest falls in the whole of India. It’s an attractive spot for trekkers. It gushes four tiers down to form a pool where bathers take skinny dips and have the time of their lives. 

Legend

Legend has it that a princess was once bathing in a lake near Mandovi, and one day, while she was naked and bathing, a prince, passing by saw her. To save her modesty, she used a jug of milk to pour it out like a curtain in front of her. The gushing milk became a namesake of this waterfall since then.

Jeep rides are a common means of reaching the falls. A seven seater Bolero Jeep is usually hired on a shared basis, and you have to pay Rs 500 per person. An entire jeep can also be hired for Rs 3500. Do carry food and water as there is no shop at the waterfall, though a few are present near the counter selling tickets for jeeps. The jeep rides are quite bumpy and thus, take precautions if you are travelling with kids or elderly people. People with back pains shouldn't take this ride.
